The History Behind Burt’s Body Shop

After his service in the United States Navy, Burt began working for a local auto mechanic chain, sparking the passion to go into business for himself.  With his own collision shop, Burt established himself as not only a trusted auto body repair specialist but a beloved member of his community. For many years, Burt’s Body Shop has been serving as a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, and are a member of the local Sunrise Chapter of BNI.

What started out as a two-car garage with a small paint area, has now become an approximately 14,000 sq ft facility. Though the space has expanded quite a bit to accommodate advances in technology and provide broader services, Burt’s Body Shop is in the same Plymouth, IN location that he and his family built together in 1956. We’ve always been and always will be family owned and operated. When Burt retired in 1988, his son and daughter in law, Doug & Suzanne, took over the day to day operations of the business. Over the course of our 60 + years in business, Burt’s brothers, sons, nephews, and grandchildren have been employed here, carrying on the standard and tradition of quality service.
